Asian style barbecue sauce recipes don't come any tastier, quicker or easier to make than these recipes below. I've got four for you to try that reflect the fantastic diversity of cuisine across a massive continent. There's Chinese, Malaysian and Thai options that can all be prepared in minutes.
The Asian style bbq sauce recipes page starts with China.
This first one goes great on Shrimps, Chicken or Pork and can be knocked up in 20 minutes. Classic sweet and sour BBQ notes come from the honey and vinegar whilst the addition of hoisin, soy and five spice make this sauce unmistakably Chinese in flavour. All we have to do is throw the ingredients in a pan, heat and stir, let it cool and Bob’s your uncle! The taste of China in your own back yard.

Sorry but this recipe has lots of allergens. Fish sauce contains fish, soy sauce contains gluten and hoi sin sauce contains exactly what it says on the label of the jar - unless you use my hoi sin sauce recipe.
Ingredients:-
TIP - This recipe is high in honey and therefore will burn easily so don't try it as a marinade. Make sure you bbq on medium coals, (gently does it) and brush on the sauce towards the end of cooking.
The other great Chinese flavour is Cha Siu, it's the classic accompaniment to duck or belly pork. Technically Cha Siu is a marinade so this barbecue sauce recipe is adapted to work as a sauce and remember as before, only use it at the end of the cooking process because of the high sugar content.
Again prep is simple. Throw it all in a pan, heat and stir until dissolved, then allow to cool.

Stir until evenly mixed. You can then simply pour it onto your
barbecue food or coat your meat before cooking.
